50KV (1 Kohm load ;W/O peaking gap) DOS
The top view of the P5 DOS Unit is shown below:
This unit's peak output voltage is about 50KV at the point labeled "Peaking Cap 1" using a 1 Kohm 1000:1 probe ; when using a 10Kohm
1000:1 probe the peak is above 100KV. The leading pulse edge is about 3 nsec. When the 1K probe is placed at "Peaking Cap 2" the peak
is about 70KV having about 1 nsec. leading edge. In the later configuration, the 1st point (Cap 1) is not loaded to 1 Kohms until
the quenched sparkgaps close; hence its initial voltage is higher then 50KV.
